Come Create Collaborative Soundscapes in the Labyrinth Help the labyrinth grow and evolve by joining us on Tuesday mornings to play with our growing collection of objects that make a vast variety of interesting, exciting and intriguing sounds, and to experience the joy of exploring and and having fun together.  We start with a walk through the labyrinth followed by a period of silence and meditation at 7 am - followed by an hour or two creating soundscapes in this beautiful area.  If 7 am is too early for you - just join us when you can get there.  And if Tuesday mornings don't work for you, we hope to offer sound workshops at other times during the year - watch this space!!! A special postscript The labyrinth is becoming home for many different characters that greet our visitors. We welcome any additions if you have any small weatherproof toys that would be at home there. We are delighted to have been donated a much-loved Christmas creche scene, which is now safely put away until the next festive season.

Summer Solstice Meditation 2018 Please join with us to celebrate the summer solstice - the longest day of the year in Australia, and the first of the harvest festivals - and to express gratitude for the gifts and challenges of 2018. We will be meeting at the Arts Centre Labyrinth at 2 pm Saturday 22 December for a walk through the labyrinth followed by a 15 minute silent meditation, and finishing with a short piece of 'unstructured music'.  The labyrinth has continued to develop during the year - this is a good chance to come and enjoy it - and of course the area is always open to visitors.  We have been using the labyrinth as a beautiful space to play with and explore the joys, challenges, and benefits of making free unstructured music together, and hope to run a series of workshops on this next year.  More information in the new year. Spring equinox meditation Sat 22 Sept 2 pm with Lucky's new friends

Meet Lucky's New Friends at the Spring Equinox Meditation at the BICAS Labyrinth Please join Lucky and his new friends  at 2 pm on Saturday 22 September for a half hour silent walking and sitting meditation to celebrate the Spring Equinox .  This is a great way to mark the coming of spring in this very special setting.   Lucky's friends have been slowly moving into the labyrinth over the past few weeks, and give an added sense of fun and surprise to the area.  Many of them are moving around as they explore the nooks and crannies looking for the perfect spot..  All visitors are welcome to talk and play with them, and perhaps help them find a new home, whenever they pass.  There is still plenty of space for new friends if you would like to bring them to the labyrinth.   I hope to see you at the Equinox meditation, Joyce Newell  0439 329 334 PS  Remember our regular Tuesday morning meditation at 7 am at the labyrinth - a great way to start the day!

Winter Solstice Meditation at the Labyrinth   Celebrate the change of seasons - the slow return of the sun to our hemisphere, and the longest day in the North - by joining us for a half hour walking and silent meditation at Lucky's Labyrinth on Friday 22 June at 2 pm.  It is a great way to enjoy the beauty and peaceful energy of this special bushland place.   The labyrinth is located behind the Bribie Island Community Arts Centre, Sunderland Drive, Banksia Beach.   Hope to see you there!! Christmas and Winter Solstice Meditation

Please join us to celebrate the Winter Solstice (the longest day of the year), the Festive Season, and the end of 2017.   It is a great time to take a few minutes out to be quiet and reflect on the wonders and mysteries of our lives today.  Coffee after for those who wish.

Celebrate their First Birthday

Lucky and the Labyrinth are celebrating their first birthday (November 5) a few days early with bright attractive new signs replacing the old weather-worn ones.  The Labyrinth has been slowly developing over the year, with new plants and new rocks adding to the interest of the site.  The Tuesday morning walking and silent meditation (7 am for half an hour) is a great time to come and enjoy the site - everyone welcome!!

Spring Equinox Meditation Wednesday 20 September 2 pm Join us for a half hour walking and quiet meditation at Lucky's Labyrinth on Wednesday 20 September at 2 pm.  This is a good chance to welcome the return of the sun to our hemisphere, and to see how the labyrinth is growing. The meditation will be followed with a visit to the 'Reflections' exhibition in the Art Centre Gallery.  I am very pleased with my installation  'Reflections on Life and Death'  (pictured above) which is receiving glowing comments from visitors including "Very impressive, Important statements, Very creative, Challenging and thoughtful, and Very moving".  The exhibition is open from 10 am to 4 pm Tuesday to Sunday and closes Sunday 24 September.  The monthly Art Centre Market is on Sunday 24 September (8:30 to 1 pm) , and this month will have a French theme (which Lucky will join in), and the Bribie Celtic Fiddlers (including me and my recorder) playing in the Gallery from 10 to noon.
