Lucky and BICAS Labyrinth to Celebrate their First Birthday

                                                  Lucky and BICAS Labyrinth to
Celebrate their First Birthday

Lucky and the Labyrinth are celebrating their first birthday (November 5) a few days early with bright attractive new signs replacing the old weather-worn ones.  The Labyrinth has been slowly developing over the year, with new plants and new rocks adding to the interest of the site.  The Tuesday morning walking and silent meditation (7 am for half an hour) is a great time to come and enjoy the site - everyone welcome!!

Spring Equinox Meditation

Wednesday 20 September 2 pm

Join us for a half hour walking and quiet meditation at Lucky's Labyrinth on Wednesday 20 September at 2 pm.  This is a good chance to welcome the return of the sun to our hemisphere, and to see how the labyrinth is growing.

The meditation will be followed with a visit to the 'Reflections' exhibition in the Art Centre Gallery.  I am very pleased with my installation  'Reflections on Life and Death'  (pictured above) which is receiving glowing comments from visitors including "Very impressive, Important statements, Very creative, Challenging and thoughtful, and Very moving".  The exhibition is open from 10 am to 4 pm Tuesday to Sunday and closes Sunday 24 September.  The monthly Art Centre Market is on Sunday 24 September (8:30 to 1 pm) , and this month will have a French theme (which Lucky will join in), and the Bribie Celtic Fiddlers (including me and my recorder) playing in the Gallery from 10 to noon.

A reminder about our 7 am Tuesday morning meditation at the Labyrinth - all welcome.

Enjoy!

Lucky reflects on Life and Death

Lucky Reflects on Life and Death

With this email I am using my Labyrinth Project email list to send information on my installation at the upcoming Printmakers exhibition at the Arts Centre (Sat 9 Sept to Sun 24 Sept with the opening 6 pm Friday 8 Sept) as I feel it might be of interest to many of the supporters of the Labyrinth.

A quick reminder of our Tuesday morning 7 am meditations at the labyrinth - a great way to start the day and enjoy the growing beauty and peace of the place.

May News - New Rocks and Tues Meditation

May News at Lucky's Labyrinth

Lots more rocks have been added to the labyrinth in the last weeks, adding a new dimension to the area.  At the moment, there is a small cairn near the 'entrance' to the steps over the fallen tree.  Please feel free to move any of the rocks - or to add your own - when you are visiting and enjoying this peaceful - and creative - place.

Tuesday morning meditations (7 to 7:30 am) are continuing to be a great way to use and enjoy our space.  Numbers coming may be low at times when people are away or otherwise unavailable - but even if you find yourself the only one there that day, it still is a great chance to enjoy the peace of the morning in a special place.

Enjoy!!!

Lucky's Labyrinth Celebrates Easter

Celebrate Easter at Lucky's Labyrinth

Lucky's Labyrinth Celebrates Easter

Three rabbits have taken up home in the labyrinth to help celebrate Easter at the Labyrinth.  If you are looking for a place for a few quiet moments to contemplate this very special season - or a place for your grandchildren to explore - it is a great time to visit.  Thanks to Glenys for helping the rabbits find their new homes.

Also a reminder that Tuesday morning at 7 am has become a fixed time for meditation at the labyrinth, so I will only send out reminders if there are changes.  If you can spare a half your to join us, it is a great way to start your day, and to help the labyrinth grow.  Everyone welcome - no need to make a commitment to come regularly.  As the weather is getting chillier, warm clothes - and perhaps something warm to sit on would be useful.  It will still be beautiful out in the bush!

Enjoy your Easter Break,

Leaning Banksia fell before the cyclone!

We now have a Banksia lying across the labyrinth path, and a temporary stile in place to help walkers get over the tree.  In the future we may add an alternative path around the tree, which looks like it will continue to grow, enrich the labyrinth, and provide a comfortable place to sit.

A reminder about Tuesday's walking and sitting meditation at the labyrinth - 7 am.  Everyone welcome.

And a note about a worthwhile public art project for Bribie which is seeking expressions of support - visit Bollards on Bribie   for more information.

Hope to see you tomorrow morning!

Labyrinth news and meditation reminder

New Developments at the Labyrinth

There are now granite rocks placed throughout the labyrinth, adding another dimension to its appearance and energies.  We have also added more colourful 'Lucky' bunting.

Tuesday Morning Meditation

The Labyrinth is a great place for our meditation  on Tuesday morning at 7 am. We are using a walking meditation followed by ten minutes silent meditation. Please join us for a very special start to your day.

Geocaching

The geocache at the labyrinth has received high acclaim from the  29 geocaching groups who have visited the cache, with almost half of them giving it a 'favorites' rating, the highest possible.  For more information on geocaching, visit geocaching.com - and for our cache, click here.

Some excerpts from the comments we have received:
After looking round the Arts Centre, we wandered round the labyrinth collecting the information required. Great fun, wish we had our grandsons with us
Beautiful spot and a fun find. Didn't even know of the place.

Didn't know this place existed, centre was not open but had a great walk and look around. Will definitely be back with the grandchildren to show them this one.
This cache is awesome, we threw around the love, geo-daughter included, cause not only is it Valentine's Day very soon, which is why we thought all the hearts were hanging around, it's also our anniversary tomorrow. So in the love of caching, and an awesome cache, we left behind our own love bomb favourite point:)
Bribie I love you. This place is amazing full. Picked up Frog TB and left buddha. Tftc a fave from me because of this garden and whole centre.
This was clever incoporating cache in another game. We found the number combinations and opened cache. Great fun for all ages
Great idea. The kids will love this one. Even the seniors will enjoy this. Excellent
What an awesome idea and cache! My 5 year old loved this and was very excited to walk the labyrinth and find the hidden code.
A great cache container, well stocked with swaps!
A favourite point for sure

For those who haven't yet visited the labyrinth, and may not be sure where to find it, turn left when you enter the Art Centre Precinct, and follow the loop road to the side of the Centre.  The Labyrinth is on your right, opposite the Gem Club, and just before the Woodies, which are both on your left.  There is parking available next to the labyrinth.

Hope to see you there,

Tuesday 7 February 2017

February is Valentines Month

Valentines and news at Lucky's Labyrinth
View this email in your browser

Lucky's Labyrinth is celebrating Valentines and the joys, beauty, and challenges of relationships with decorations, and a book of lover letters from well known lovers - with space at the end to add your own. The book, and a couple of other books with thoughts on love, will be available at the labyrinth until the end of February.
Plans for future development of the area are underway - though slowed until the weather cools a bit!!  We were given a load of beautiful granite rocks a few of which have been placed (perhaps temporarily) within the labyrinth, and the rest are still waiting to find where they fit.  If you like, you are welcome to move the rocks around to help them find their places - though be warned - some are heavy enough to need two people, and perhaps a trolley.

We are also working on plans to incorporate inspirational words within the labyrinth, possibly on the bricks in the stopping points or on the granite rocks.  We are especially interested in suitable haiku-type poems - please let us know if you find, or better still, are inspired to write any.

Please contact me at 0439 329 334 or Joyce.Newell@bigpond.com if you have any comments or suggestions.  Further information on the labyrinth can be found at
